Advanced Administrative Services "Tuesday Tips"
Greetings!
In this October issue we provide tips on various business support activities, including how to be more productive, on writing content efficiently, and a quick Microsoft Office Word pointer. We hope these tips are valuable in helping you to manage your business and to achieve your desired successes.
Productivity
Did you know that neck strain caused by sitting at the computer and/or from prior injuries can greatly impact your ability to concentrate?
Take a few minutes throughout the day to complete a few basic stretches to maximize your productivity. Here's a 4 minute GAIAM video you can do at your desk with Rodney Yee. Don't have time for 4 minutes, watch it once and incorporate 30 seconds at a time.
5 Tips to Help You Write Original Content Quickly
Do you struggle to get into the writing zone? Here are some great tips to help you write great content and have some fun at the same time.
Write as fast as you can without editing. Think first, edit later.
Set the timer on your phone or computer and force yourself to finish in this time frame.
If your phone or computer has the technology, speak your content. For example, the QuickOffice app on my phone allows me to speak into Word and then send the file to myself. No typing involved.
Go to the library, grab several business books and brainstorm several articles at once. The change in environment can do wonders for your creativity.
Grab some used books from a library sale and then go to your favorite coffee shop to write. You help the community; you recycle and provide your take on timeless content.
Microsoft Office Tip: Word
Formulas are not limited to Excel. You can use formulas in Word tables too. Simply select the Formula button from the Data group of the contextual Table Tools Layout tab and enter the formula in the Formula bar. This contextual layout tab is available when you click anywhere in the table.
Formulas used in this table include =SUM(ABOVE) to sum columns and =SUM(LEFT) to sum rows.
Customer Relations Tip
It may sound simple, but
DELIVER WHAT YOU SAY YOU'RE GOING TO
and then go above and beyond!
