TCS HONOR'S CLUB

First row, Eliza Cave, Emma Garrett, Ashley Hearn, Olivia Ragan, Natalia Xenick Second row:  Principal, Mr. Roy Johnson, Isabella Clary, Hannah Garrett, Michael Christy, Juliana Pinto, Abby Strickland, Sarah Walker, and Mrs. Vernita Martial   Missing from this picture is Will Eison.

We are proud to announce the twelve elementary students who were inducted into the TCS Honor's Club during Chapel on Monday, October 22. The students must be in grade 4 or 5 to receive an invitation to apply.  They must have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA (88%) from the previous school year and be able to maintain a minimum of 3.5 GPA throughout the school year.

A PEACEFUL TRANSITION OF POWER

Many went to the polls and exercised their franchise!  And when the dust settles and the pundits cool down... when the ballots become history and the polling places are silenced, we will have had a peaceful transition of power and only those who do not effectively understand what it means to be a citizen of this great nation will "react."  The rest of us will respond with acceptance of the decision of the majority, even if we do not agree.

Earlier this past year, while riding around Palm Beach Gardens, I saw a bumper sticker on the window of a very expensive luxury car.  It said: "He's NOT my president!"  Well, I thought to myself "then dear lady, this is not your country."  We citizens of the U.S. believe in our process and we disciples of Jesus should always be in prayer for whomever is elected to whatever responsible office they have won.

Yesterday, we decided who will represent us in the near future.  Please be in prayer that prayerful decisions will be made and that God's will, as close as it can be accomplished is manifested in those we elected.

As Christians who are citizens of the United States, we have a larger interest than just our own.  We worship God who loves the entire world and gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but will receive everlasting life.

Many may be disappointed, but they will not be disenfranchised.  We remain, faithful and patriotic citizens placed here by our decision to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  We remain loyal citizens of this country and faithful citizens of the Kingdom of God. Bless each and everyone of you and may God bless the United States of America!

~OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE~

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is reaching out to partners in the Caribbean in the wake of Hurricane Sandy there, while also bracing to respond to the storm's expected catastrophic destruction yet to come in the US Northeast.

UMCOR Assistant General Secretary for US Disaster Response the Rev. Tom Hazelwood has been in contact with partners in Cuba, Jamaica, and the Bahamas, as well as in the Northeast Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church in the United States.

"There are many ways you can help, but the most important right now is by giving to UMCOR US Disaster Response, Advance #901670, which will also cover needs in the Caribbean region," he said. Be sure to choose "Hurricanes 2012" from the drop-down menu. You can also text the word RESPONSE to 80888 to give an immediate $10 donation.

The Fellowship of the Believers - Acts 2:42-47

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
