The Affordable Care Act -for Child Care Employers 
A Basic Question and Answer Overview

 

Child care workers often do not have health insurance. Many child care centers cannot afford to offer health insurance for their employees. And many child care teachers cannot afford to buy health insurance on their own. 
Below are some questions often asked by child care employers about the new national health insurance initiative.  The answers to these questions provide a basic overview to help child care employers. There is also a companion factsheet for individuals that can provide basic information for your employees.

Lorain County Children and Families Council will provide $25 Apples gift cards to the first 50 registered families attending the full day.  (One gift card per family, professionals attending are not eligible to receive a gift card.)

FREE preschool vision screening training and equipment offered!
Prevent Blindness Ohio is pleased to let you know about our Fall 2013 schedule of preschool vision screening trainings.  These trainings are
free of charge, thanks to a grant from the Save Our Sight Fund (www.saveoursight.ohio.gov), and are appropriate for health care and allied healthcare professionals, child care/day care providers, school nurses, public health professionals and community volunteers to attend.  Upon succevision screeningssful completion of the training, each individual/organization is eligible to receive a free set of vision screening equipment (over a $300 value).

 

This fall, we are holding trainings in Akron, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, and Toledo.  Individuals can register by mail, fax or on the internet at: www.WiseAboutEyes.org.

 

Registrations can also be mailed or faxed to our office by downloading the attached brochure.

The Child Care Resource Center is a private non-profit agency that is part of the statewide system of child care resource and referral funded by the Ohio Department of Jobs & Family Services.
