This weekend, the CCRC reflects on the contributions of those who help make our nation a safer, stronger and better place for everyone. The Child Care Resource Center is your source for child care and early education needs. We create a bridge between parents, providers and community resources so that children arrive at kindergarten ready to succeed.
The Child Care Resource Center will be closed Monday, September 2, 2013 in celebration  of Labor Day. We will re-open on Tuesday, Sept., 3, 2013 at 8:00 am.

It's Back to School: Help Kids Eat Healthy
What is the CACFP?
Have you seen your back-to-school supply lists yet?
In the midst of your search for just the right backpack and box of crayons, don't forget the most important part of back-to-school preparations - planning healthy meals for your child and any other children in your care.  School success and good nutrition go hand-in-hand.  Participants in the Child Care Resource Center's (CCRC) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) receive one-on-one support in meal planning and nutrition, which help children do their best in school.  If you care for children and want to learn more about CACFP Program, e-mail or call the CCRC at (440) 960-7187.
USDA and CCRC are equal opportunity
providers and employers.

North Central Ohio, did you know that 47% of eligible child care programs are star rated?

SUTQ 5 star logo

If you are a program administrator and have been waiting for the "right" time to begin the process of becoming star rated...NOW IS THE TIME!

The CCRC staff will be recruiting non-rated programs beginning in September.   The technical assistance staff of the CCRC have sent all non-rated programs a letter outlining the program and how YOU can receive on-site, one-on-one support to receive a star rating.

Don't be left out!

T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Updates
T.E.A.C.H Early Childhood Ohio

Recent changes in the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential application process has also affected changes in Ohio's T.E.A.C.H. scholarship Program.  Effective September 1, 2013, the CDA Council will increase their application fee to $425 (from the current $325).  As a result of this change the T.E.A.C.H. scholarship award will increase to $375 (from the current $300) and scholarship recipients will now need to increase their contribution to cover the application fee to $50 (from the current $25).

Also be aware that when T.E.A.C.H. staff verifies that applicants have met the 120 hours of education in the eight required subject areas, ONLY training that the applicant has attended within the previous five years will be accepted.
