It's Here!  NEW Early Learning and Development Standards Overview
More Sessions Added!

The wait is finally over!  The CCRC has several sessions of the new Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) Overview training.  The first 3 dates filled quickly and we have just added two more to meet the demand.

This first training in the series explains the history and impact of learning standards on children's readiness for school, the connection to actual classroom or family childcare practices, and a review of the content in the ELDS. These new standards and the trainings are meant for anyone working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in any early care and learning environment, including:

  •       Childcare center staff,
  •       Preschool program staff,
  •       Family childcare providers,
  •       And other early care and education professional.

These sessions provide Child Development training hours for family childcare providers, SUTQ approved training, and are FREE of charge.

Round 'Em Up, Head 'Em Out!  Join Us for a Bonanza...
...An ERS Bonanza that is!  ERS stands for Environment Rating Scales.  These scales help you look at your program or family childcare in an honest way.  In the new SUTQ Program Standards, you will need to select and use a self-assessment tool to evaluate your childcare or early education classrooms.  But, you must also be trained to use and score it correctly.

The CCRC offers you a SPECIAL training day to meet this SUTQ program standard.  All childcare and education professionals are invited:
  • Family Childcare Providers
  • Infant and Toddler Caregivers/Teachers
  • Preschool Teachers
  • School Age and Youth Program Staff/Teachers
  • Administrators/Directors

Join us on Saturday, September 14 from 9:00-3:00 pm at Lorain County Community College, Spitzer Conference Center.

Boxed Lunch Provided!  Door Prizes!

Child Development In-service Hours...SUTQ Approved!

*We also have individual sessions for each of the ERS trainings throughout our 5 counties.  Check out our Workshop Calendar.

Do You Work with Older School Age Children and Adolescents?

Understanding children ages 10 and up is a challenge to many teachers, school-age program staff, and childcare providers.  Their ever changing bodies and the stresses they face impacts them and us.  Understanding the development and behavior of older school children is important in planning successful programming for them.

The CCRC offers a special day of training for anyone teaching or working with older school age children.  Learn and discuss their development and behavior.  The day will finish with activities that are created, tested, and approved by older school age children that inspires and engages them.  Join us at the CCRC on Saturday, October 12th.
