Step Up to Quality Marketing Transition
Typically, whenever a new program achieves a star rating, that program receives a media kit and a SUTQ outdoor display banner, in order to share the good news with the community and help spread the word about SUTQ. Because of recent high demand and the transition of the system from a three (3) star to a five (5) star system - marketing materials will not be available until the transition is complete.
ODJFS is asking for your patience as new banners advertising the fiv e (5) star system are printed. You will receive both a banner and a media kit shortly, just as soon as the five (5) star system launches.

Need CEUs to renew your CDA credential?
It is now easier than ever to request IACET CEUs for approved trainings! Instead of completing a request form, mailing a check, and waiting for the certificate in the mail, you will now submit your request through the Ohio Professional Registry when registering for your trainings.
The steps are very easy:
- Log onto the Ohio Professional Registry and search for trainings as you normally would.
- When you find the training you want, click the "More Information" button.
- To request CEUs for the training, check the box next to "Education - IACET - CEUs: $10.00" (If the training is not approved for IACET CEUs, this box will not appear).
- Click the blue "Add training to cart" button.
- Proceed through the steps to pay any training fees and/or IACET CEUs fee.
- Once you have completed the training, log into your Registry account and print your IACET CEU certificate.
It's that simple! So don't forget to submit your request at the time of registration. And remember, the CCRC is not able to take CEU requests after the training occurs; trainers will no longer have CEUs request forms at trainings.

Are you updated in Lorain County's ALERT FIND system? Ohio's Emergency Email and Wireless Network
ALERT FIND is an Electronic Emergency Notification System - where in the event of an emergency you would receive an alert via email, phone or text message. Lorain County's emergency management director Tom Kelley did a Tornado Drill Test to the child care program list he has used in the past and 60 of the alerts bounced. That means that child care providers have made changes and those changes have not been shared with emergency management officials.
In an effort to bring the list up to date and to make sure that in an emergency (tornado, flood, national emergency, etc.) you as a child care business are notified directly. PLEASE click on the link below and complete the brief form and return it to Tom Kelley Tkelley@loraincounty.usFORM

Supporting School Readiness for All Children
Quality experiences last a lifetime! Unfortunately so do low quality experiences. As child care professionals, families and communities who hold children's future in their hands we have a responsibility to do our very best.
But, where do we start? Are we providing activities and materials that support child development? Do we have lesson plans and a curriculum we follow? And if we do, are we looking deeper into our normal activities to see how we can improve?
Ready or Not, Here They Come: Early Childhood Curriculum, Assessment & School Readiness Conference will provide you an opportunity to learn more about how you can impact the future of a child just by looking deeper at what you are providing and how you can make small changes that can make a BIG difference in the life of a child. Let's work together to make all children entering Kindergarten READY TO LEARN!!
