Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.
~Henry Ward Beecher

This year's dogwood bloom is shaping up to be spectacular -- and not to be missed! The green infant blossoms that are filling the trees will soon cover them in a brilliant mantel as white as snow. The hundreds of kousa dogwoods here at the estate are a lasting and tangible example of the legacy left by Polly Wakefield. Polly wanted her gardens -- and especially her dogwoods -- to be viewed and enjoyed.  Walking among her dogwoods, I cannot help but feel gratitude for the generous gift she gave to us all. Please take advantage of this gift, and visit us during our annual Dogwood Days, June 8-14 to view for yourself the dogwoods in their full glory.
