"How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?"
 - Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss)

May the tragic events of last week in Connecticut instill in all of us a renewed commitment to cherish and hold close those we love, and to not take for granted the beauty and gift of life.

On behalf of the Trustees and staff of the Mary M.B. Wakefield Charitable Trust, I wish you all a safe and peaceful holiday season!

Our 3rd Annual Winterfire

Saturday, January 12, 5:00-7:00 pm

Join us Saturday, January 12 at 5:00 pm for Winterfire, our annual mid-winter evening garden stroll.  Like last year, we will mix lightscape with landscape to highlight many of our signature trees and garden features. After your stroll, join others at a rousing bonfire for some hot chocolate and a roasted sausage. We'll make sure we have plenty of marshmallows! Dress warmly and bring a friend! Call 617-333-0924 for more information. If you would like to join us, please rsvp at 617-333-0924 or by email.

This event is somewhat weather dependent, so please check out website or Facebook page on January 12 after 1:00 pm in the event of a storm.

We are very grateful to Virginia (Bohlin) Dorman, who generously donated her tractor to the Wakefield Estate in memory of her late husband, William Dorman. The tractor is an essential piece of the equipment needed to maintain the estate, and we are so happy for the donation! The tractor will be affectionately referred to as "Bill." The tractor was one of an array of items we had  as a "wish" on our newly created "Giving Tree." Highlighting important items we will need for programs in 2013 and beyond, the Giving Tree offers an opportunity for friends and supporters to make a tax-deductible contribution to the Wakefield Trust at year-end or throughout the year. To see the entire list of items starting at $35, visit our "Donate" tab on our website.
Mary M. B. Wakefield Charitable Trust is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
