redbud in bloom

Spring's beauty is budding!
The stunning bloom of the redbuds (ours are both red and white) and the ephemeral wildflowers in the estate's Front Garden are harbingers that Spring has truly arrived. Our crabapples, lilacs, silverbells, azaleas, viburnum, and virginia bluebells are providing a dazzling display of purple, blue, pink, and white for visitors to the property. Isn't it time for a springtime stroll?
I never cease to be amazed by the sudden and radical transformation of the landscape from season to season - that's why we invite you to visit the Wakefield Estate at least four times a year!  I want to call special attention to the May 30 tour that we are co-sponsoring with the Arnold Arboretum. In addition to viewing the beautiful gardens and orchards, you will also learn of the unique relationship between this landscape and the Arboretum established many years ago by Polly Wakefield.   Please join us!
