 Dear Friends,
Spring is finally in full swing, and the official start of summer is just around the corner. At Appalachian Brewing Company, we're here to help you make every special occasion this time of year even more spirited.
First, as a Dad who's recently experienced my own child's high school graduation, I know personally how proud other parents are of their kids. Whether you're celebrating their leap to college, or jump into the professional world - you can't beat a visit to ABC! We're proud to be a family-friendly brewpub with a little something for everyone when you treat your grad and their 'entourage' to dinner or just a drink.
Secondly, it's also time to celebrate Dad, himself. Father's Day is on Sunday, June 21. If the 'old man' in your life loves a great pint of beer and an epic burger, there's no place like ABC. Treat Dad to one of our delicious entrees and wash it down with an old fashioned Appalachian Root Beer Float - and he'll love you forever... although we know he already does. No matter which ABC location you prefer, keep an eye out for list of specials throughout the Father's Day weekend.
On a different note, I'd like to thank our great team at ABC of Gettysburg Gateway for organizing the recent Mug Club Open Golf Tournament. More than 20 teams competed in this 8th annual event held this year at The Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown. For those of you who were there - you may or may not remember how great of a time it was! For those who missed it, don't make the same mistake next year!

Not only is Sunday, June 21 the first official day of summer, but it's Father's Day, too!
We'll be accepting call-ahead seating, so please give us a call at (717)398-2419 to let us know when you expect to arrive.
We're also making Father's Day extra special for the Dads in our Mug Club - by offering half-price appetizers. Muggers only!

8 years of great beer, good friends, and OK golf
More than 20 teams representing every ABC location competed in this annual event, held this year at The Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown, PA!
While there are some great golfers in our ranks, as proven by the 8 under par winning score - this day is really about fun and camaraderie amongst our most loyal ABC customers.
Special thanks to Nate and Bekki from Gateway for organizing such a fantastic event - as well as thanks to Natasha and Kyle from ABC of Mechanicsburg for delivering the fresh strawberry and Limoncello shooters to everyone of the course throughout the day!

Chef's Recipe
Ginger Beer Glazed Shrimp Skewers
From the kitchen of ABC Executive Chef Kyle Mason, we present this tasty and innovative dish you'll enjoy trying at home!
Ginger Beer Glazed Shrimp Skewers
Makes 12 Skewers (serves 6)
Ingredients:
A dozen 9" Bamboo skewers soaked in water
2lbs. White Shrimp, (fresh of frozen) 21/25 CT P&D Tail On
¼ Cup of Brown Sugar
12oz ABC Ginger Beer
2oz Soy Sauce
1 Chopped Scallion
1 Garlic Clove (chopped)
1 Tsp Sriracha sauce
Directions:
*If using frozen shrimp, allow time to properly thaw prior to cooking.
Place bamboo skewers into water and allow soaking for at least 30 minutes before using to prevent skewers from burning on grill. Rinse the shrimp under cold water to ensure they are clean. Using two pounds of shrimp, you should have around 48 shrimp. Make sure the shrimp is peeled of its shell and deveined. The tail can remain on or off if you prefer.
In a bowl combine 12oz of Appalachian Ginger Beer, 2oz of your favorite soy sauce, ¼ cup of brown sugar, 1 Tsp of Sriracha (you may add more if you like it spicier), 1 clove of freshly chopped garlic, and 1 scallion finely chopped. Mix contents of bowl until well blended. Next add your cleaned shrimp to the liquid and allow to marinate for at least 20-30 minutes. Once your shrimp and skewers are ready carefully slide 4 whole shrimp onto each skewer, save the remaining marinade. You should yield 12 total skewers.
Place your skewed shrimp on a preheat 400F grill and allow each side to cook for approximately 1-2 minutes. Brush the shrimp with the extra marinade as they cook for additional flavor.
Serve two Skewers per dish with your favorite back yard sides and enjoy!
