GALA ONLINE MEMBER ARTISTS DIRECTORY
|
One of the great benefits of GALA membership is the option to be listed in the GALA website Member Artists Directory.
Our members have received sales and publicity opportunities as a direct result of their listing in the directory. As this is a benefit only offered to current members, we will once again be updating the directory to remove the listing of artists that are no longer current. This update will begin on September 1, 2014.
We urge you to retain this valuable promotion vehicle by renewing your membership via this link: www.galagardner.org/join.htm by August 31st. If you are a member and are not yet taking advantage of this important benefit, we urge you to do so by submitting a request to be listed. If you are currently listed, you should review your information and request an update if necessary.
To make it easier than ever, we now offer the option to submit your info for the directory via an online form. You may also fill in the form online and then print it for mailing to GALA at PO Box 664, Gardner, MA 01440. Click on this link to go to the directory and access the form: http://galagardner.org/gala-artists-directory.htm

GALA 2014 Photography Show Followup
 | "Hummingbird Moth" & "Incognito"
|
We are pleased to report that our first ever all photography show was well received!
The room was filled to capacity during the opening reception. Throughout the show, many artists and visitors gave us very positive feedback about the quality of the photographs and the installation. We had at least 32 first time visitors. On Saturday, our members enjoyed capturing the scenery and architecture during the GALA En Plein Air event on the grounds of the show location. Also on Saturday, our Board of Directors Chair, Mike Williams offered digital camera tips and techniques under a tent on the front lawn.
 | "Star Island Sunrise" |
Once more, our volunteers generously donated their time and effort to make the show possible. As always, we are especially grateful to the members of the Art Show Committee for their talent and tireless dedication: Guy Biechele, Ashley Bird, Kevin Bird, Chuck Heidorn, Vicki Heidorn, Doreen LaScola, Anna Ruuska, and Mike Williams. Our gratitude to the following people who were responsible for specific aspects of the show: Kevin & Ashley Bird-Installation, Vicki Heidorn-Volunteers, Ashley Bird & Anna Ruuska-Opening Reception refreshments; Jeff Gallant-Financials; Anna Ruuska-Art drop-off.
| "Suspended" |
Our thanks to Sandy Urquhart for supporting the arts and accommodating GALA's exhibit space needs.
Please patronize our local Gardner supermarkets, Hannaford, Price Chopper and Stop & Shop. Their gift card donations made it possible to offer refreshments at the opening reception. Tell them that you appreciate their support of the arts.
And of course, we want to express our appreciation to our photographers who shared their marvelous artwork and talent with the community!
Congratulations to the winners of the Popular Choice Awards which are determined by public voting:
1st: Denise Jacques-Richard, Incognito
3rd: Guy Biechele, Suspended
HM: Michael J. Theriault, Hummingbird Moth
If you would like to know the votes for your photographs, please email Anna at webawr@comcast.net.
