Thank you to everyone who attended the Members Annual Meeting and the GALA Artists Market
at the Gardner Senior Center. 
We thank Dawn Evans Scaltreto from the Arsenal Center for the Arts for providing members with insight into the journey ahead of us in regards to creating a successful art center
for the Gardner Area. 
Now we will turn our attention and focus on preparing
for the 2014 Spring Art Show.  Let's make it bigger and better than 2013!!

Congratulations to Jim O'Rourke!


 
Samuel Thorpe's Studio
Jim O'Rourke will be exhibiting some artwork at the Jaffrey Civic Center in the Annual Autumn Art Exhibit.  The dates are
Nov. 22nd thru Dec. 21st.  His most treasured piece is the above oil painting of Samuel Thorpes Studio and Gallery in Townsend, Ma.
This piece was exhibited last year along side
Sam's collected works in a memorial exhibit
at the Meeting Hall Gallery in Townsend.
He will also be hanging the pastel landscape below, entitled Willard Brook, along with two matted pictures for the floor portfolio.

Hanging Out
Len's collage "Morning Sunlight Knocking on My Cottage Door" was awarded 2nd Place in Other Media at the Friends of the Agawam Public Library 5th Annual Juried Show.

 

  
  

Len Haug's collage "Hanging Out" (left) was juried in to the Concord Art Association's Frances N. Roddy Open Competition Exhibit and was on display from mid September to late October.

Arlene Ferrier Exhibit at Heywood Hospital

The paintings of Arlene Ferrier are currently on display 

at the Heywood Hospital Chronic Wound Care Center.    

GALA celebrates a long-standing tradition of exhibiting in the waiting room and the patients appreciate the different displays.  There is an excellent hanging system for up to 11 pieces and good light.  Artwork can be offered for sale. GALA artists who wish to exhibit there may contact Vicki at [email protected].

Joe Smith is GALA's New Featured Artist

Joe is GALA's most recent Featured Artist. 
Joe is a prolific artist and works in a
variety of mediums.  Lately he has
been using oils, scratchboard, watercolor,
and pen & ink.  He tends to be drawn
to natural landscapes.  His favorite
pastime is long hikes through the woods
with his sketchbook, stopping to draw
whatever catches his eye.  Check out

Congratulations to Lisa Regopoulos
Lisa Regopoulos was presented with her Signature Membership status at the Pastel Society of New Hampshire national show "It's Pastel" at the Discover Portsmouth Museum. Lisa's painting "Urban Awakening" was also awarded a prize at the show.
She is now the newly elected Vice President of the Pastel Society of New Hampshire.
