Yarns on First

After a long spell of wonderfully wet weather, sunny skies have returned to Napa, and our thoughts have turned to spring weight yarns. We are happy to introduce  Calista, a new DK weight yarn from Classic Elite Yarns. Calista is made from mercerized cotton, and has a wonderful chainette construction, which lends it both lightness and strength. It works up with great, nubbly texture and has a lovely soft sheen. Isn't it pretty?

We've got our eyes on a few patterns that would be perfect for Calista!

Christy is a lovely summer piece that can be worked as either a scarf or a wrap, using 4 or 8 balls of Calista respectively. The color palette is beautiful, and the color combination almost endless!

Charlette is an adorable, colorblocked A-line tee that again plays with the complimentary color palate of Calista. It is worked from the top down with side placket on yoke, and is such a versatile top for spring!

Shibui has a new line of very wearable patterns out that we excited about! One is
Interval, a bottom up short sleeve sweater that uses reverse stockinette stitches for striking detail. A perfect match for Calista!

Nova is such an elegant piece, with simple ribbed details, a small collar, and high-low hem. Another garment that you could easily dress up or down.

And last, but not least, is Meridian, also from Shibui. This drapey cardigan is elegant, timeless, and will certainly become a wardrobe favorite! We think this would be exquisite in Calista.
