Can you believe August is more than halfway over? It seem like just the other day that school had ended for the year and the long, lazy days of summer were stretching before us. My family is gearing up for back to school, and the yarn shop is getting ready for a bustling autumn season! We've been busy meeting with reps, ordering some very exciting new yarns, and working on our fall class schedule. Stay tuned for the schedule; we hope to have it out in the next couple of weeks!

Zauberball
We are thrilled to have received our very first shipment of Schoppel Wolle's Zauberball! These yarns are so vibrant and colorful, with long, gradual color runs. We are currently carrying Zauberball 100, which is 100% merino and perfect for shawls or other accesories, and Zauberball Crazy. This is a great sock yarn, with 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon. Crazy has been kicked up a notch, as two strands of the main ply have been dyed individually and then twisted together for a crazy combination! |

Shibui Cima, Pebble, & Kavo
We are long time fans of Shibui yarns and are always impressed with both their fibers and their aesthetic. We have brought in a few of their newer yarns and are loving them all!
Cima is a sprightly lace weight yarn, spun from the finest baby alpaca and merino. Held single, double, or triple, it creates smooth fabrics with clean lines, perfect for modern garments. Marcie and I have both really enjoyed working with Cima, finding it incredibly soft and springy.
Lace weight Pebble is a lux blend ofcashmere, fine merino, and recycled silk, united to create a tweedy mélange. Separate plies of each fiber retain their distinctive characteristics, but blend into a beautifully cohesive yarn flecked with complex tonal colors. Perfect for colorwork, lace, and an innumerable variety of garments, Pebble is light, airy, and irresistibly soft.
Kavo is currently our favorite! Kavo, an unusual blend of 85% cotton and 15% decadent silk, creates incredible knits with exceptional drape and a smooth, luxurious hand. The slight variation in diameter gives this DK weight yarn an organic feel. Intended to be knit on a range of needle sizes, Kavo's fabric is open and airy, yet substantial enough to hold structured silhouettes.
We are carrying a lovely selection of all of these yarns, as well as your stand by Shibui favorites. Come on in to see what's new!

Cocoknits
Julie Weisenberger has been creating beauitful, sophisticated knitting paterns for years now. We love her unique and modern sensiblity! Her patterns are very well written and create gorgeous and very wearable garments. Marcie immediately cast on a Gretel, in Shibui's Kavo- can't wait to see how it turns out!
