Another fun and fiber-filled year has passed by! At the risk of sounding extremely cliched, we can hardly believe how fast this year has whizzed by. It seems like just a few months ago that we were celebrating our first year of business, but here we are at our 2nd anniversary. We are long time fans of Shibui Knits, a yarn company based out of Portland, OR. Shibui, which is Japanese for "elegant with a touch of bitterness", is known for their unusual fiber and texture combinations and their gorgeous color palette. Another unique element of Shibui yarns is their Mix concept, which gives the individual knitter the power to create their own yarn fabrics by mixing multiple strands of yarn. Shibui has developed a whole line of Mix patterns to further enhance this creative approach.
In order to further your knowledge and appreciation of what Shibui is doing, we are hosting a Mix party. We couldn't be more thrilled that Marge Okuley, our fantastic Shibui Sales Rep will be co-hosting this event with us. She is a veritable fountain of knitting know-how and has been working with Shibui yarns for years now. We will walk you through combining yarns to achieve different gauges and fabrics. It'll be educational and fun, plus you'll leave with a bag of Shibui yarn samples to play with at home. There will be prizes and refreshments! The cost is $12.
