Happy Holidays from Yarns on First!

What a rainy start to this holiday season! Perfect knitting/crocheting weather!! We have been busy around the shop readying for the holidays, hanging twinkly lights, making felted gingerbread ornaments and knitting up gifts.
Marcie has started a scarf with some of the Rowan Glamour, in the gorgeous Smoke colorway. It is so lovely and would make a perfect gift for a special someone.
We are very excited about some beautiful new yarn we just received from the Fibre Company. Acadia is a 2-ply yarn with a rustic look and soft hand. A subtle tweed effect created by the silk noil is combined with a heathered base and then overdyed in the duotones, creating incredible depth of color. Each skein is 145 yards, with a conten of 60% merino wool, 20% baby alpaca + 20% silk.
We love this Knitbot pattern featuring Acadia.

 Felted Slipper Workshop
Have you had a chance to sign up yet?
The workshop runs December 9th and 16th, from 1:00-3:00pm. The cost is $40, and open to anyone with basic knitting skills. I love my felted slippers- they are just the thing for these chilly December days! And they of course would make a great gift! |
