Wood, Waves, & Words: Sculpture by John Cino
Patchogue Arts Gallery
July 9-August 21
Reception: July 10 from 3:00-5:00 PM

Wood, Waves, & Words features a dozen works that John completed over the past year both in his studio and during his time as Artist in Residence at Stony Brook University, alongside related pieces from the past few years. Two works, "Dialogues," which was created during the residency, and "Song Wave," which the artist received a grant for, include recent interests in sound and language.

John Cino has been a lead curator of the Patchogue Arts Council since its inception and has brought numerous artists to the attention of the local community. Now the Patchogue Arts Council Board of Trustees invited John to turn the table and introduce his own work to the community in this solo exhibit.

Richard Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier
The Salzburg Festival
Thursday, July 7 and Saturday, July 16

Although a comic opera, Der Rosenkavalier also operates at a deeper level. Conscious of the difference in age between herself and Octavian (mezzo Sophie Koch in the trouser role), the Marschallin (silvery voiced soprano Krassimira Stoyanova) muses in bittersweet fashion over the passing of time, growing old, and the inconstancy of men.

*Optional at an additional charge during intermission: Saturday Brunch catered from Goldberg's Famous Bagels. Top it off with a Mimosa, fine wine, or craft beer. Thursday Evening Cheese Platters are catered from The Cheese Patch. Pair with a fine wine or craft beer from Plaza's Blue Velvet Lounge.
