Paint the Great South Bay 2016!
PAC is inviting artists to paint en plein air, outdoors on site, along the Great South Bay from Smith Point Beach to the Fire Island Light House. The event has undergone a few tweaks and the format now resembles many of the other annual plein air events hosted on the east coast.
Paint the Great South Bay will be rain or shine from Thursday, August 25-Sunday, August 28. The Wet Paint Show and Sale will take place at the Patchogue Arts Gallery for just one day, Sunday, August 28 from noon-5:00 PM.
Paint the Great South Bay is limited to just 40 artists so register ASAP! Please note that mailed applications go to the Patchogue Arts Council, 20 Terry St., Ste 116, Patchogue, NY 11772. View the Paint the Great South Bay Prospectus for more information or contact Gina Lento, 609-937-2691 or gina@ginalento.com.
We can't wait to see all you plein air painters in action! If you are not a plein air painter, be sure to save the date and join us for the Wet Paint Show and Sale on 8/28.
Creatively yours,
The Patchogue Arts Council Board of Trustees

memorial in celebration of the life and work of renowned British artist Richard Smith (1931-2016).
Richard had a long, prosperous career, with solo exhibitions at the Tate Gallery (1975), the Jewish Museum (1968), and Whitechapel Gallery (1966). His artwork is in the public collections of many renowned art institutions including the British Museum, Museum of Modern Art, and Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Richard moved to New York in 1978 and settled in Patchogue in the late 1990s. We had the pleasure of exhibiting his work several times over the years in the 2009 Patchogue Arts Biennial, in a 2012 solo exhibition, and as part of the 2015 PAC MAC Festival.
Richard will be missed by many around the world and will always have a special place here in Patchogue. Please join us as we celebrate Richard at the Patchogue Arts Gallery on July 2.

Comedy of Errors
Shakespeare's Globe Saturday, June 4 and Thursday, June 9
Take one pair of estranged twin brothers and one pair of estranged twin servants, keep them in ignorance of each other, throw them into a city with a reputation for sorcery and you have all the ingredients for theatrical chaos. Based on Plautus' farce Shakespeare caps the mayhem of his Roman original to build up a hectic tale of violent cross-purposes, furious slapstick, and social nightmare.
*Optional at an additional charge during intermission: Saturday Brunch catered from Goldberg's Famous Bagels. Top it off with a Mimosa, fine wine, or craft beer. Thursday Evening Cheese Platters are catered from The Cheese Patch. Pair with a fine wine or craft beer from Plaza's Blue Velvet Lounge.
