Two PAC exhibition open calls!

PatchWorks 2015: The Annual Juried Members Exhibition
Juror: Cherie Via Rexer; owner/director of RIPE Art Gallery, Huntington, NY.

Reception: June 28, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM
Submission Drop Off: June 19 - June 21

This annual show gives current members of the Patchogue Arts Council the opportunity to exhibit their artwork at the Patchogue Arts Gallery located at 20 Terry St., Patchogue. There is no submission fee, and artists are invited to submit up to two works of art in any medium. The exhibition will highlight the many talents of the Patchogue Arts community and will exhibit a mixture of painting, sculpture, photography, and more. 2015 marks the fourth year PAC has held an exhibition exclusively for its members at the Patchogue Arts Gallery. Now is the perfect time to renew or join!

Call for Outdoor Sculptures for PAC MAC Festival 
October 2 - 11, 2015  
Submission Deadline: June 30, 2015
The Patchogue Arts Council is pleased to announce it is accepting submissions from sculptors to exhibit an outdoor sculpture in Patchogue Village during the PAC MAC Festival, a downtown centric, multi-day, multi-venue festival encompassing music, visual arts, and cinema.

Multiple sculptures will be installed in the Patchogue Garden Club Garden and Roe Walkway. Artists are encouraged to create an outdoor sculpture and will receive a stipend of up to $750.00 for a newly created work if selected. Artists submitting an existing work will receive a stipend of up to $300.00 if selected. The Visual Arts Committee of the Patchogue Arts Council will review all submissions. All artwork will be on view outside, in public spaces, and must abide by safety protocol and procedures.

Email submissions are due ON June 30, 2015 and any submissions received AFTER June 30, 2015 or that do not follow ALL of the PROSPECTUS available by clicking here will not be considered.

Linear Construction
Featuring the fiber sculptures of Ellen Dickenson, wire figure sculptures of Naomi Grossman, and abstract painting by Larry Monat. On view through June 14 at the Patchogue Arts Gallery.
Digital Fusions
Max Titmus expands the boundaries of photography through digital manipulation and collage. On exhibition at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, 71 E. Main St., Patchogue through June 21.
Pastel Landscapes
This exhibit features pastel works by Linda Beckerman and is on display at the PAC Members Gallery at Roast Coffee and Tea Trading Co., 41 E. Main St. through June 22.

Patchogue Artspace presents Project Lives: New York Housing Residents Photograph their WorldArtspace is the first of Long Island Galleries to exhibit Project Lives...a brilliant participatory photography project that has just been published as a book by powerHouse and developed into a photography exhibition that first appeared in the powerHouse Arena in Dumbo in April 2015, and now it is coming to Patchogue. Invitation to Artists for the Patchogue Garden Club's 15th Annual Garden Tour "Art in the Gardens" on July 11, 2015. Artists are invited to submit works of art to be displayed in  the private gardens participating in the tour and/or the Community Garden at South Ocean Avenue and Terry Street, Patchogue Village.  The club is reprising its successful 2010 "Art in the Gardens" tour.  To exhibit, submit up to 3 .jpegs of work that is able to stand alone or be hung, along with the title and medium to [email protected]. Subjects to include flowers, trees, gardens, nature, etc. Work must be framed and wired ready to hang on lattice. Artists will be notified of selection at the latest by June 5.

If selected for exhibit in a private garden, you will be told in advance the address of the garden for dropping off your work. Drop off for private garden exhibit is on the morning of the tour at 8:30 AM and pick up is at 3:30 PM. If selected for exhibit in the Community Garden, you will drop off at the Community Garden located on the corner of South Ocean Avenue and Terry Street at 8:30 AM and pick up will be at the same location at 2:00 PM.

Yes: there will be security for the day; you can make other drop off/pick up arrangements; the Garden Club will have provisions to protect from rain; you will need to sign a waiver of liability.  No: there is no fee to submit work; the Garden Club will not sell your work; there is no commission to the Garden Club if you do. A list of work available for sale will be provided to patrons of the tour.  To be included on the list, please provide your name and contact information along with the title, medium, and price of the work by July 1.
