What a fall it has been for the arts!  We are grateful for all you have done to support the Patchogue Arts Council in 2014.  Thank you for your continued volunteer efforts and financial contributions.  Without you the Patchogue Arts Council would not be able to continue to fulfill its mission to support, promote, and encourage the arts by providing arts programming and exhibitions akin to the quality seen in NYC and other major metropolitan areas right here in our own backyard.

Please consider making a year end contribution to the Patchogue Arts Council.  The Patchogue Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, and your donation may be tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Donations can be sent to our office located at 20 Terry St., Suite 116, Patchogue, NY 11772, or can be made online by clicking undefined.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to experiencing the arts with you in 2015!

Remembering Things Past
Hallway Linda Abadjian
'Hallway' by Linda Abadjian
Patchogue Arts Gallery, 20 Terry St.
Co-Curators: John Cino & Jay Schuck
Thru December 20, 2014

Remembering Things Past presents artists born in other countries who are now working in the United States. All art is autobiographical; all artists choose from past interests, memories, and experiences that they incorporate into their work. The artists presented in the exhibition have made the journey here at different stages in their lives, from childhood to maturity. The variety of their forms and subjects reflect the uniqueness of their experiences.

The exhibition features Linda Abadjian, Pablo Caviedes, Cui Fei, Ana Golici, Fatima Shakil, and Shirley Wegner.

Portrait Drawings by Kathryn Ko
Portrait Drawings by Kathryn Ko

On exhibit at the PAC Members Gallery in Roast Coffee & Tea Trading Co
41 E. Main St., Patchogue
Thru December 22

Kathryn Ko, a skilled neurosurgeon, has a unique approach to drawing and painting and a preoccupation with the human figure. Human anatomy, for Ko, is a language best translated by surgeons. Her portrait drawings allow the artist to finish the medical narrative she begins in the clinic, extracting the spirit of the subject in her work. For the artist, the white space between the scalpel and paintbrush has merged into one continued field of vision and train of thought.
