What will PAC MAC include? MUSIC Building on PAC's 2013 South by South Shore Festival, there will be original music performances at a variety of local restaurants throughout Patchogue, nights will be arranged by musical genre, including rock, funk and more. The Patchogue Theater for the Performing Arts kicks off the opening of the 10th Season of Live in the Lobby with a double album release by with musician Chris J. Connolly & the group Butchers Blind. In addition there will be outdoor performances by Tri Valley Brass at the New Village Green, a day of jam band performances at 89 North and newly added to the lineup, is an outdoor open mic session sponsored by the Patchogue Medford Library and taking place off Main St in the Roe Walkway. ARTS - Kick off party with a collaborative exhibition presented by Projecting Arts and Briarcliffe College. Latino artists expressing their thoughts on "Celebrating Life" - Celebrando La Vida 2014. On view October 4 - October 25, 2014 @ 225 West Main St.
- Commissioned sculptures and installations will be located in multiple public spaces including Capital One Plaza, New Village Green, West Avenue Center Median The Garden Club Community Garden, various walkways that lead to Main Street, as well as on the grounds of Briarcliffe College.
- The Best of Suffolk County Arts Councils all under one roof at the PAC Gallery (Terry St.), with annex exhibit at LI Pulse office 1 Terry St.
- Additional exhibitions will be on display at the Lobby Gallery at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, PAC Member Gallery at Roast Coffee and Tea, and Shand's Loft Gallery @ BHB, and Hoptron Brewtique.
- The Arts Live Here: There will be a gallery exhibit by the residents of Artspace in their gallery as well as a day of open studio tours.
- There will be a collection of Pop-Up galleries in a large store-front at 46 Main St featuring the work of various artists groups.
Literary & Performance Arts: - There will be a presentation by the New Musicals Project in the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts Lobby of an original family musical entitled BOO! On Oct 26.
- Thomson Square will be performing at PTPA on Oct 17 and Paula Poundstone will be performing on Oct 18.
- Spoken word and poetry readings will take place at Roast Coffee & Tea.
- There will be a reading from PAC's partnership with Herstory Writer's Workshop at the Plaza Cinema and Media Arts Center on Oct 20.
CINEMA - The cinema component of PAC MAC will include a full week of special programing focused on dance and music, kicking off with a special screening of "Dancing in Jaffa".
The following films are scheduled: "Get on Up" a biopic about James Brown, the Beatle's "A Hard Days Night", "Finding Fella" and "Alive Inside". All screening at Plaza Cinema and Media Arts Center.
- There will be screenings of animation and short films at The Loft at the Brickhouse Brewery throughout the week.
The Patchogue Arts Council will be collaborating with the largest network of arts and cultural organizations throughout Suffolk County to present a Festival of the Arts for all ages. The PAC MAC Festival 2014 epitomizes the mission of the Patchogue Arts Council - Encouraging, Promoting and Supporting the Arts - Since 2008 and will further enhance Patchogue's reputation as a hotbed for the arts. Collaboraters include,Business Improvement District of the Village of Patchogue, Patchogue Theater for the Performing Arts, Plaza Cinema and Media Arts Center, Herstory, The New Musicals Project, 89 North, Artspace Patchogue Lofts, Gallery 40SO,Tri-Valley Brass Band, Projecting Arts, Long Island Pulse Magazine pop-up gallery, Patchogue restaurants, and many more to be announced!
