VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
The Patchogue Arts Council is seeking volunteers, especially for gallery sitting. Send an email to info@patchoguearts.org with the word "volunteer' in the subject line for more info.
Greetings!

Since 2008, the Patchogue Arts Council's (PAC) programming has introduced tens of thousands of people to downtown Patchogue and its vibrant art community. Community members and businesses alike understand the impact that the arts have on the revitalization and sustainability of a region and stepped up to financially support our programming.

We are excited to introduce our next creative place-making initiative, the PAC MAC Festival. PAC MAC will be a downtown-centric, multi-day, multi-venue festival encompassing (M)usic, (A)rts and (C)inema from October 17-26, 2014.

Downtown Patchogue Village has developed an evolving arts and music scene. In both 2008 and 2011 PAC staged the Patchogue Arts Biennial, the largest contemporary art event of its kind on Long Island! Building on the past success of this event and other PAC events such as the Walking Arts Tour, the Patchogue Arts Festival (collaborative event with the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts), and the South By South Shore Music Festival of 2013, PAC MAC will encompass all genres of the arts. PAC MAC has a primary goal to unite Suffolk County's varied artistic movements in an event that will expand exposure to a broader audience.

All of PAC's events have been made possible through generous sponsorship and hundreds of dedicated volunteers. We ask you now to join us in making the PAC MAC festival the most successful PAC event yet by becoming an event sponsor.  Sponsorship levels begin at the $50 & $100 individual level; work up to $500 flag level; and grow with levels at  $1,000; $2,500; $5,000; $10,000... and the diamond at $20,000!  Please share the sponsor package and consider being a sponsor yourself.

Thank you for your continued support,

The Patchogue Arts Council Board Trustees

PAC MAC Submissions from area artists for the visual arts component are now being accepted: for outdoor sculpture and installation; from local artists groups for pop-up gallery opportunities; and from Suffolk County Arts Council members for the exhibition "Best of Suffolk County Arts Councils."  Further details on artist opportunities for PAC MAC can be found at:

Leave your 'mark' on The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts' critically acclaimed Live in the Lobby (LIL) music series by designing its next logo!

Now in its TENTH season, Live in the Lobby is launching a logo competition. The series has earned a reputation as a major Long Island venue for a variety of genres of local original music and has given birth to several  performance events in the PTPA Lobby. In the winter of 2005 a group of volunteers was assembled to present a series of local original music concerts with seating for about 60 and standing room for another 40 around the bar. The concept took hold as singer-songwriters, original bands, and their fans, found a venue that welcomed original music in a comfortable "listening room" setting. With its own sound and lighting, the Lobby became a "venue within a venue," and The New York Times called LIL "A felicitous space for music listening."

Submission deadline is August 19.  The artist selected for the logo design will receive a pair of season passes to LIL 2014-2015.  Inquiries and submissions can be sent to  Christopher@patchoguetheatre.com.

Sketch
Patchogue Sketch Club
The Patchogue Sketch Club was created for the purpose of getting people together to discover the value of sketching. Sketching itself is its own art form; sketching helps artists "see" better and enhances drawing skills. Sketching is also a fun way of recording the world around us much more intimately than a camera.

For more information about upcoming sketch outings and gatherings visit their blog at

The Bridges To Justice workshop meets every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to Noon at the Patchogue Arts Gallery located at 20 Terry St. in Patchogue.  It was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Knapp-Swezey Foundation, Briarcliffe College, and the New York State Council on the Arts.   For more information, email literaryarts@patchoguearts.com.
