Projections features site-specific installations from the artists Michelle Carollo and Jason Paradis. Each artist begins on the wall with paintings that migrate or project into three-dimensional space. Site-specific installations are unique to the space they occupy and cannot be replicated elsewhere.
Michelle Carollo makes drawings, sculptures, and large installations of abstract, colorful forms in the interest of creating room-sized, three-dimensional abstract paintings. Her work blurs the line between the illusionary space found in a two-dimensional abstract painting and the physical space an individual occupies.
Jason Paradis contemplates the fundamental mysteries of life and the existence of something larger. His interests lie in the moment where the past, present, and future collide. Elements of his current environment, laced with reflection, memory, and speculation, are filtered through his layered approach to art.
