Greetings!
If you have not had a chance to see Minutiae at the Patchogue Arts Gallery, it's not too late! The exhibit runs through this Saturday, April 19.
Minutiae Featuring the Work of Martin Levine, Patricia Mamatos, and Paul Farinacci
Patchogue Arts Gallery, 20 Terry St., Patchogue
In a time in which speed is the norm, where the spontaneous gesture is celebrated, there are still those who find delight in meticulous craftsmanship. The artists in "Minutiae" are joined together by processes that take the time to attend to fine detail.

Rasa Valiene.
Rasa Valiene has been painting since childhood and received her degree in the arts at the College of Arts in her home country of Lithuania. She showed her artwork across Eastern Europe before moving to New York in 2001. In her Amber Heart series, she brings together the beauty of Long Island beaches with her own perception of the natural world. For the artist, amber is representative of her Lithuanian heritage while also serving as a reminder of our fragile future. She hopes Amber Heart raises awareness for environmental preservation, inspiring people to be mindful of their harmful actions detrimental to the environment.

Patchogue Sketch Club
|
The Patchogue Sketch Club was created for the purpose of getting people together to discover the value of sketching. Sketching itself is its own art form; sketching helps artists "see" better and enhances drawing skills. Sketching is also a fun way of recording the world around us much more intimately than a camera.
For more information about upcoming sketch outings and gatherings visit their blog at

Join men and women from all walks of life as they share their true stories about their efforts to create a more equitable and inclusive world. Erika Duncan, Herstory founder, novelist, and former writer for
The New York Times Long Island Weekly, facilitates this free weekly workshop designed to unite and inspire our community. No writing experience is necessary, simply the desire to connect through your story and the stories of the other participants.
The Bridges To Justice workshop meets every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to Noon at the Patchogue Arts Gallery located at 20 Terry St. in Patchogue. It was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Knapp-Swezey Foundation, Briarcliffe College, and the New York State Council on the Arts.
