PATCHOGUE, NY - March 13, 2014 - The Patchogue Arts Council (PAC) and Roast Coffee & Tea Trading Co. are proud to present the work of Rasa Valiene on display at the PAC Members Gallery at Roast located at 41 E. Main St., Patchogue. The exhibit will be on display from March 24 to May 5 with a reception on April 6, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. The reception is free and open to the public.

Rasa Valiene has been painting since childhood and received her degree in the arts at the College of Arts in her home country of Lithuania. She showed her artwork across Eastern Europe before moving to New York in 2001. In her Amber Heart series, she brings together the beauty of Long Island beaches with her own perception of the natural world. For the artist, amber is representative of her Lithuanian heritage while also serving as a reminder of our fragile future. She hopes Amber Heart raises awareness for environmental preservation, inspiring people to be mindful of their harmful actions detrimental to the environment.
