PATCHOGUE, NY - January 22, 2014 - The Patchogue Arts Council (PAC) and Roast Coffee & Tea Trading Co. are proud to present the work of Linda Abadjian on display at the PAC Members Gallery at Roast located at 41 E. Main St., Patchogue. The exhibit will be on display from January 27 to March 10 with a reception on February 2 from 2:00-4:00 PM. The reception is free and open to the public.

At the tender age of 13, Linda Abadjian emigrated from Lebanon to the United States to escape the bloody Lebanese Civil War. Although it has been some time since she has last been to Lebanon, her home country and the war have had a large impact on her artwork. Her mixed-media paintings depicting war-torn buildings and landscapes of Lebanon speak of new hope while examining the atrocities of war. These paintings represent a fragmented self of the artist and are enhanced by handwritten poetry that weaves through her complex layers of acrylic and ink. The poetry included in these works speaks of unveiling beauty and human resilience during times of devastation and destruction.
