Why it Matters: Painting is the process of the unconscious revealing itself for Pamela Varacek. Her art is very intuitive, having no preconceived idea or plan. Her paintings develop over the course of their creation, allowing the artist to truly express her whimsical imagination. A base layer of paint is spread across the entire canvas with the artist then adding more layers on top. Each layer of paint is a metamorphosis, revealing specific images the artist then brings to the forefront of the canvas. She aspires to form a deep connection with her audience through her work. Her work warrants an emotional response.
