Be sure to check out the photography exhibit of the work of Titus Kana on display at the Patchogue Arts Council Members Gallery located inside Roast Coffee & Tea Trading Co. thru November 12, 2013.

Titus Kana is a fine art photographer who has shown his work in exhibitions across Long Island and in New York City. He was elected to the board of the Patchogue Arts Council in 2013 and is a founding member of the PAC Photography Club. Titus has been interested in photography all of his life. He first picked up the camera while still in high school taking up landscapes and seascapes as his subject matter. In 1981 he began his professional career in New York City as a fashion and beauty photographer. Over the years he developed a mastery of digital imaging and has a wide range of computer programs under his belt. His painterly black and white photographs of Fire Island are achieved through utilizing a technique that combines infrared photography with colorization that creates a dynamic range of tones.

CONNECTING THROUGH OUR STORIES

The Patchogue Arts Council and Herstory Writer's Workshop invites you to join our ongoing memoir-writing workshop, Bridges To Justice.  Join men and women from all walks of life as they share their true stories about their efforts to create a more equitable and inclusive world.  Erika Duncan, Herstory founder, novelist, and former writer for The New York Times Long Island Weekly, facilitates this free weekly workshop designed to unite and inspire our community.  No writing experience is necessary, simply the desire to connect through your story and the stories of the other participants.

The Bridges To Justice workshop meets every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to Noon at the Patchogue Arts Gallery located at 20 Terry Street in Patchogue.  It was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Knapp-Swezey Foundation, Briarcliffe College, and the New York State Council on the Arts.   For more information, email literaryarts@patchoguearts.com.

Patchogue Sketch Club
The Patchogue Sketch Club was created for the purpose of getting people together to discover the value of sketching. Sketching itself is its own art form; sketching helps artists "see" better and enhances drawing skills. Sketching is also a fun way of recording the world around us much more intimately than a camera.

For more information about upcoming sketch outings and gatherings visit their blog at
