PATCHOGUE, NY - August 20, 2013 - The Patchogue Arts Council, Inc. is proud to announce its upcoming exhibition "Artists of the Lobby: Five Years of the Arts Council" opening September 7 and running through October 19, with an artists' reception on September 15 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.

Why: The fifth anniversary of exhibitions at the Lobby Arts Gallery is celebrated with a group exhibition featuring artists who have shown in the Lobby.

Five years ago the Patchogue Arts Council staged its first public exhibition in the lobby of the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts and added another element to the developing cultural arts scene in Patchogue. "The River's Edge," the Lobby Arts Gallery's first exhibit opened September 21, 2008; it featured paintings and drawings by Dawn Lee. Since then approximately 20 artists have been exhibited in the gallery.
The Lobby Arts Gallery has shown the work of renowned local artists as well as sampled the variety of art forms throughout Long Island. Many of those exhibited will return for "Artists of the Lobby: Five Years of the Arts Council" in the Patchogue Arts Gallery located at 20 Terry St. in Patchogue. The gallery is located in the Artspace building nestled between the Artspace Gallery and the Plaza Cinema and Media Arts Center. Gallery hours are Thursday and Friday from 2:00 - 7:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 - 5:00 PM.
There will be an artist's reception September 15 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. Featured artists include Karen Cernera Bush, Rani Carson, Beatric� Coron, JoAnne Dumas, Bryan Gutman, Dan Lachacz, Dawn Lee, Lawrence Lee, Jessica McAvoy, Robert Mielenhausen, Clayton Orehek, Janell O'Rourke, Ben Owens, Jason Paradis, Jack Pierce, Lorraine Rimmelin, Bill Shillalies and Ted Stamatelos.
During the reception the Patchogue Arts Council will honor the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts and the Village of Patchogue for their support and partnership with the Patchogue Arts Council.
