Greetings!

This Thursday the Patchogue Arts Council will begin a partnership with Herstory Writers Workshop to present Memoirs of Motherhood:  Connecting Through Our Stories, the first of three bilingual programs that will run until September 2013.  The goal of these programs is to harness the power of memoir writing circles and book clubs to unite and inspire the Patchogue community.

This women's writing circle is dedicated to the stories that mothers have to contribute to the world. Designed to build bridges across the community, the program invites mothers of all ages to share their joys, sorrows, hopes, hardships, and dreams.  In order to accommodate the varied schedules of busy mothers, meetings will be held on alternating Thursday mornings and Tuesday nights.
Meeting 1: Thursday 10/4 from 10:00 AM - Noon; Meeting 2: Tuesday 10/9, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Sessions continue on alternating Tuesdays and Thursdays, and participants are welcome to attend as their schedules permit on a week-by-week basis.

Located at the Patchogue Arts Council, 20 Terry St., Suite 116
This program, free to all participants, will take place at the Patchogue Arts Council, 20 Terry Street, Patchogue.  It has been made possible through the generous support of the Knapp-Swezey Foundation and Briarcliffe College.
Spaces are limited - don't miss out on this FUN-draiser!

East End Arts Seeks Judges for 2013 Teeny Awards:  Judges Needed High School Theater Recognition Program
East End Arts' Teeny Awards Judging Committee is seeking qualified volunteers for evaluating high school theatrical performances on the East End for the 2012-2013 academic year. The Teeny Awards is a high school theater recognition program, founded and run by East End Arts since 2002. The program, entering its 11th year, recognizes and celebrates talented theater students across the East End of Long Island. The judges are a very important component of the Teeny Awards since they adjudicate all performances and determine the most outstanding performances to receive the highest honor: a Teeny Award.  Judges will be selected based on experience and knowledge of theater.  Judges attend high school productions anonymously and adjudicate students with the use of an evaluation tool based on the academic rubric. Orientation is provided. Theatrical performances take place at 15 high schools in eastern Suffolk County. All judges are invited to the gala awards ceremony in June 2013.
Applications for judges are available at http://eastendarts.org/TEMPfiles2012/Teeny2012-13JudgesApp.pdf as well as by contacting Teeny Awards Coordinator Morgan Vaughan at teenyawards@eastendarts.org or 310-600-4296, or East End Arts at 631-727-0900.  For more information about the Teeny Awards, contact Teeny Coordinator Morgan Vaughan at teenyawards@eastendarts.org or visit http://eastendarts.org/education/teeny.html

Patchogue Sketch Club
The Patchogue Sketch Club was created for the purpose of getting people together to discover the value of sketching. Sketching itself is its own art form, sketching helps artists "see" better and enhances drawing skills. Sketching is also a fun way of recording the world around us much more intimately than a camera.

For more information about upcoming sketch outings and gatherings visit their blog at
