Increasing User Value

"CCPS Marketing Project 2014"

We are excited to launch a focused CCPS Marketing Project this year to expand CCPS users across the Los Angeles Region. The California Institute for Nursing & Health Care and the LANRC Advisory Committee have been discussing strategies to engage additional Clinical Agency partners (including i.e., hospitals, non-acute clinics, ambulatory clinics, home health agencies and psychiatric facilities) as well as additional RN and LVN nursing programs to consider CCPS.  We know that increasing users will add additional value as more of your affiliated partners use the system. Your input and recommendations for new contacts will help us to identify, engage and hopefully enroll new sites; while also providing nursing students with a range of clinical education options to support their experiences.

We would like to express our gratitude to current CCPS users who participated in this process.  Thank you for taking the time to respond.

The Los Angeles Nursing Resource Center (LANRC) provides a centralized, customer-focused suite of internet based education services for schools of nursing and clinical agencies.  The goal of the Centralized Clinical Placement System (CCPS), one of the services within the site, is utilized by placement coordinators at participating schools and hospitals to facilitate planning and coordination of their nursing clinical placements. Schools are able to search for and view available placement options listed by their affiliated hospitals. Hospitals benefit from the placement planning features, master calendar views of all cohort groups scheduled by unit, and various report formats.

The California Institute for Nursing & Health Care (CINHC) provides the leadership and coordination CCPS working with placement coordinators in participating schools and hospitals in the region.  The CCPS is one way the nursing education community is working together to address nursing growth and coordinate planning in the region.

CCPS Fall/Winter 2014 Cycle Update

As we approach the close of the Fall/Winter 2014 Placement Cycle please remember to:

Schools:  Check for REPROPOSALS from your Clinical Agency affiliates.  Step 3 - View/Edit

Hospitals: Respond to additional requests from Schools responding to your REPROPOSAL terms.

Cycle Due Date

March 31 - April 18, 2014 (Preceptor placement decisions due May 30) Hospitals review proposed requests and make placement decisions. Hospitals are encouraged to accept long-standing/historic placements and to decline proposals they know they cannot accommodate as quickly as possible, as a courtesy to schools.

Spring and Summer 2015 TBD

CCPS TRAINING DATES

CCPS classes for new sites and coordinators will be scheduled in August/September just prior to the start of the next clinical placement cycle in preparation for spring/summer 2015 schedules.  If you have additional coordinators in need of training  please contact Tianda@cinhc.org to schedule training.
