1. 21st Century Learning Spotlight: Communicating our dreams

Think for a moment of your "moonshot" or your dream in life. Twenty or so students in Mrs. Dunlap's sixth-grade Language Arts class listened intently while their teacher introduced a new writing assignment in which students were encouraged to think about their life-long dreams and aspirations.

 

Displayed on the projector was a guiding template with inspiring resource links, thought-provoking questions and a timeline. Students across the room were already feverishly opening applications on their Chromebooks - one creating a comic-styled report on Pixton, one on YouTube looking for a video to embed into their blog and many others searching images and music for inspiration. 2. Board Appoints Dr. Bill Wagner to Permanent Superintendent Seat 

More than 20 qualified applicants were screened for the position of Superintendent for the Fairview Park City Schools and during a special meeting on February 3, the board voted to appoint Dr. Bill Wagner as the district's superintendent, effective August 1, 2015. Read more.

 

3. Join us for State Assessment Parent Information Night on Feb. 10
Do you have questions about the new state assessments? Get answers at the State Assessment Parent Information Event, hosted by PTA on Tuesday, February 10 at 6:45 p.m. Hear from Mary Manos-Mitchem, PTA Council President, who will share important information for parents about the state assessments. 5. Register your Kindergartener on March 11!

The Fairview Park City Schools core Kindergarten Program is a half-day program, with an optional full-day tuition based program, with limited enrollment. Spaces for the All-Day program option will be secured on a first-come basis as defined by your completed registration, screening and deposit. If you intend to enroll your child into Kindergarten at Fairview Park, please plan on attending the Registration event on Wednesday, March 11!
