Watching the snow pile up (and up and up...) on our deck that cold, windy Saturday in January, I wondered whether spring would ever arrive. Three weeks later, the pile of snow that remained next to the deck looked as though it would still serve its original intent - as a sledding track. (Parenting tip: When trying to encourage your teenagers to shovel snow, persuade them to build something out of it. The thought of a sledding ramp got the deck cleared in no time, and the ramp provided some outdoor fun for several weeks after the blizzard.) But by the time... 
 
Superfood: Black Garlic
 
Although not as famous as white garlic, black garlic is slowly taking over the market, especially as an alternative natural herbal medicine. Introduced into the market from Korea, this type of garlic is mainly prepared through a "fermentation" process lasting at least one month. Mom Review: Treasured Times with Disney on Ice

What better way to spend Valentine's Day than at the Verizon Center for the Disney on Ice Treasure Trove show? Well, maybe I was a bit jealous of all the couples strolling around downtown D.C., but the squeals and looks of wonder on my little loves' faces made it 100 percent worth it! This was our second trip to a Disney on Ice show, and I was amazed at how different the two shows were. I was expecting the same show with little twists, but I was very wrong. The same high quality of performance, sets and costumes were in place, but the majority of the Treasure Trove show was surprisingly not the core Disney princesses. If you have Disney fans in your house who isn't necessarily into the princesses, this one is a great choice... to read the rest, click here!
