Our friend Danny Bernstein will lead us on a 10.5 mile strenuous hike to Newton Bald, and while we catch our breath at Mingus Mill, hikers will learn about preserving the Park's history.

April Classic Hike is $10 for current Friends of the Smokies members and $35 for non-members, who will receive a complimentary membership. Members who bring a friend hike for free.  All registration donations benefit the Smokies Trails Forever program.

A successful day hike starts with a good plan. We'll teach you how to plan- what to think about before you leave the house, essentials for your daypack, how to dress, where to go, and how to get home safe and satisfied from your adventures.

Meet our Development Director Sarah Weeks and Jordan of Blue Ridge Mountain Sports, and learn their tips + tricks for a successful day hike.

There will be munchies to enjoy and new friends to meet.
