Financial Reminders

There is still time to complete the 2016-17 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Incoming freshman admitted for fall 2016 can now access financial aid
award offers through the GoWMU portal. Letters are also being sent via U.S. mail. Please note that your student will only receive an offer letter from WMU Student Financial Aid if you filed a FAFSA. All other aid notifications will be sent through the respective WMU office or department.

Summer I applications and 2016-17 forms for financial aid are available on the Student Financial Aid website

Your student's 1098-T documents are available at 1098-t.com if needed for your tax return.

Remind your graduating student to RSVP for commencement by April 14 through the GoWMU portal.

There's still time to celebrate your new graduate with a commencement program tribute or a commemorative brick...or both! Order by March 31.
Get into the 90s

Get into the 90s is a social norms campaign designed to correct WMU students' misperceptions about their peers' health-related behaviors and choices.

Social "norms" as they are portrayed in popular culture are often very different than the facts on campus. Some of the actual social norms at WMU are listed below.
  • 99 percent of WMU students prefer to date someone who drinks moderately, rarely, or never.
  • 97 percent of WMU students stayed with the same group of friends the entire time they were drinking if they chose to drink in the past 12 months.
  • 98 percent of WMU students prefer to be friends with someone who drinks moderately, rarely, or never.

Consider sharing this info with your student to ensure a safe and healthy St. Patrick's Day celebration.
