DRI Foundation Joins Typhoon Relief Efforts in the Philippines

The DRI Foundation has taken an active hand in aiding relief efforts for the survivors of Super Typhoon Haiyan-Yolanda in the Philippines.

After it promoted a campaign dedicated to raising money for this cause, supporters in the emergency management community rushed to provide funding to help in the wake of the typhoon.

With support in place, the foundation reached out to its contacts in the Philippines to determine the best use of the donations. Rebuilding efforts are the top priority, so it partnered with Habitat for Humanity Philippines to sponsor a Habitat Core House, a structure designed to be resistant to earthquakes and typhoons, which will help a family to start anew.

"We are not surprised at the altruism that our fellow business continuity, disaster recovery and emergency management colleagues showed in the face of this devastating event," said AnneMarie Staley, DRI Foundation Chair. "We are proud to be a part of this noble community."

DRI President to Speak on UAE Crisis Management

The United Arab Emirates National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) welcomes DRI International President and CEO Al Berman as a guest speaker at its 5^th Crisis & Emergency Management Conference 2014.

The two-day event, held February 25-26, is designed to educate and raise awareness for the national crisis management community of the UAE. Speaking under the session theme "Preventive Prediction, Not Impromptu Confrontation," Berman will discuss the role of business continuity and supply chains in responding to a disaster.
