DRI2014 to Be Held May 18-21 in Atlanta!
|
You asked, and here's the answer: DRI2014 (our third annual conference and exhibition) will be held May 18-21, 2014, in Atlanta, GA!
"We're excited about Atlanta," said DRI President and CEO Al Berman. "It's a great city with a rich history and is home to many excellent continuity programs. Our staff and a volunteer committee of continuity professionals is helping to guide the development of the event and the conference program. We are all very hard at work to produce an outstanding event."
Registration is set to open in early September. So, save the date and look for more information -- including the conference program -- coming your way soon!
About our DRI2014 Host City
Atlanta gleams amid glass and steel towers, but the heart of the South's largest city is its people. Visitors are likely to be greeted with a big helping of "How y'all doing" hospitality. Atlanta may have birthed Gone with the Wind, yet today's big bustling city is more New South than old.
Atlanta began as a transportation mecca. It still is, but with a 21st-century global approach. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the busiest airport in the world. Atlanta is America's most accessible city with direct, non-stop service to more than 155 US destinations -- 80 percent of those within a two-hour flight. It's also the second busiest for international flights. And with the MARTA stations located inside the airport, visitors can roll into town without a car.
Centennial Olympic Park, the heart of downtown's tourist hub, is marked by playful fountains that draw visitors to its core. World-class attractions such as the popular Georgia Aquarium, home to whale sharks and wave pools, and World of Coca-Cola, a dedication to a century of top-notch advertising, are only a short walk away. Sports fans congregate here too, to cheer the NFL Falcons in the Georgia Dome, NBA Hawks and WNBA Atlanta Dream in Philips Arena and the MLB Braves at Turner Field.
The city's rich cultural history comes to life in Sweet Auburn, once the richest Black street in America. It's a mecca for Civil Rights travelers at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site and Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Dining out is essential to Atlanta's social scene, where chef-run indie restaurants dish up modern American cuisine in strikingly beautiful dining rooms. Among the chic up-to-the-minute places are plenty of cozy diners, cafes and bistros. The international mom and pop hole-in-the-walls of Buford Highway dish up menus with little English and lots of flavor.
We hope to see you there!

DRI Sponsors 4th Community Resilience Conference in Davos, Switzerland
|
DRI International is proud to announce that we will be partnering with the Global Risk Forum as a sponsor for the "4th Conference on Community Resilience on Building Resiliency into Critical Infrastructures: International Goals - National Strategies - Local Actions" in Davos, Switzerland.
DRI Director of Global Operations, Chloe Demrovsky, will also be speaking on a panel entitled "Building Private/Public Sector Partnerships."
The conference will be held August 29-30, 2013, at the Davos Congress Center, Davos, Switzerland. The 4th Conference on Community Resilience is jointly organized by Virginia Tech and the Foundation Global Risk Forum GRF Davos endorsed by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
Increased environmental and socio-technology threats challenge a nation's abilities to mitigate and recover from major events. As we cope with the increased frequency, magnitude, and complexity of these events, it is essential that prior planning and policies be in place that will make communities and populations more resilient to large-scale disruptions.
Come and network with DRI International and BCM professionals from around the world as we try to answer the question, "How can national strategies ensure that local actions integrate all contextual factors in order to enhance the resiliency of a nation?"
For more information on GRF Davos and the conference, visit http://www.grforum.org/.
