Meet Bruce Gillespie,
Service Provider of the Year
| |
Bruce Gillespie, a Contingency Services Manager of Business Continuity within CSC's Business Continuity Group, was named Service Provider of the Year at the DRI 2013 Awards of Excellence. Gillespie has implemented business continuity and disaster recovery programs within several commercial and non-profit organizations for the energy, defense, healthcare and other industry sectors. He has been a DRI-certified business continuity planner since 1995. He has more than 30 years of IT experience with over 18 years specifically applied to business continuity and disaster recovery, of which eight years are with CSC. He has prior experience as a data center operations manager at F. Schumacher & Co, disaster recovery coordinator at Christiana Care Health System, and as a contingency planner at Bank One.
He attributes much of his success as being able to take his experience as a data center manager and disaster recovery planner to integrate the business unit functions with information technology to create a unified and comprehensive business continuity program. The future has him continuing to balance customer requirements and technology capabilities. He holds an associate degree in business administration from St. Joseph's University.
The Service Provider of the Year award is designed to recognize the very best in service delivery amongst full service business continuity providers. The category is judged on both a company statement -- prepared by both the service provider and a customer -- as well as an online vote, targeted at business continuity managers across all industry sectors. The company statement demonstrates the company's commitment in promoting business continuity to its customer base and the wider audience, including staff awareness, training, and user-group activity, amongst other efforts. The judges will reward innovation and quality as well as customer service and satisfaction and an ability to respond to changing market demand.
