Bishop Aitken's Reflections

What an amazing Assembly! My gratitude to all voting members, you were awesome! We are a good-spirited, faithful, open and hospitable synod! I can't tell you how many times people said that to me over the week-end. I'm proud of our congregations and its leaders. With the faithful work of the Synod Planning Team, our Deans, our speakers, every Committee that worked behind the scenes, those who spoke at the mic(s) during Plenary, those who led worship, Rev. Dr. Anna Madsen and Rev. Dr. Rafael Malpica Padilla, our outstanding Pages from LYO and our committed staff, I went home feeling grateful to be this synod's Bishop!

Green Tip of the Week

Support organic agriculture, which avoids toxic pesticides and herbicides, reduces chemical runoff into the water supply, increases biodiversity, avoids genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and protects community health.  Find local and organic produce by joining a community supported agriculture (CSA) program, or by shopping at a nearby farmers' market, or grow your own.
