 New Product Arrivals:
Ocean Rodeo Dry Suits (the Heat and Soul) have arrived just in time for the cooler weather - check out the Soul on Mick (he's such a poser!) Not only are they incredible, efficient suits, they're 'cool' with a ski boarder look.
Cold Water Paddling - remember the rule of thumb? 120 degrees - combo of water and air temp. The water on the river is about 70 now and the air mostly 60. Add in wind chill and you could be in hypothermic conditions. It's time for layers mates! The thermo fleece from O'Neill is ideal, as is the SuperTech Jacket - with 2mm neoprene on the chest and back and water repellent arms and hoody - great windbreaker! Just leave the cotton at home! Farmer John wetsuit's are our favorite for layering.  Yoloboard has released it's new 3 speed bike - now while we're not planning on getting into bike sales - this one is SWEET! and on special order for one of our mates, so if you're interested.... Even has a basket!
SUPIA - bringing the industry together...
Kim joined the board of the Stand Up Paddle Industry Association this year, and attended a two day summit with members in CA last week "(yeah it was hard work :)" Some incredible speakers, a lively bunch of SUP professionals (manufacturers, retailers, distributors, suppliers, service providers...) SUPIA is dedicated to the betterment of the sport, bringing the community together, helping business and individuals be successful. "It was awesome - a great opportunity to network, learn, share knowledge, have a voice. And I met the legendary Mickey Munoz! Check out the agenda, become a member, join us next year!"

"I paddled with seals in La Jolla, visited the Infinity factory to learn about board construction with Dave and Steve Boehne, enjoyed yoga with Gerry Lopez at the Battle of the Paddle, witnessed Danny Ching break a board in surf, Kai Lenny and Connor Baxter have a hissy fit, Annabel and Candace battling it out for the title. Stand Up Paddlers Are Stand Up People...
 said Lars from SUP The Mag at the awards last week. Downunder stands up for cancer awareness (our Pink Aid paddle raised $1000 last week), children with diabetes (Soundsurfer raised over $20,000), protecting our waterways (Harborwatch benefited from Soundsurfer and a sunset paddle fundraiser at Downunder), community programs (we sponsor little leagues and donate to local causes). You Stand Up by supporting us - we do it together!

Halloween Paddle

Saturday October 25th join us at 1pm for a fun paddle on the river in COSTUME - most creative costumes win prizes: something sweet from Saugatuck Sweets, something savory from Craft Butchery, or something cool from Downunder. Bring your board or rent ours, kids welcome, dogs welcome, ghosts welcome - dress warmly (layers, remember!)
