This may be Raul's first statewide race, but he sure isn't acting like it. Raul has logged over 14,000 miles in just five months. He has travel from El Paso to Houston and from Lubbock to Dallas-Ft. Worth area all the way down to South Texas and everywhere Raul has been he is greeted and welcomed with open arms.  

 

Folks all over Texas are signing up on our website and have expressed excitement when they learn that Raul is a CPA and that he has a written plan ready to resolve many of our state's financial challenges without the need to raise taxes or cut services.  The reason is clear: Raul isn't a career politician, he is a professionally trained CPA.  We believe that Raul is not only the most qualified candidate, but when elected he will be the very first CPA to serve as Texas Comptroller in our state's history!   

 

Now, for the breaking news.

 

 In their latest poll conducted seven days ago, the Texas Tribune learned that 75% of Republican primary voters are undecided in the emerging four-way race for Comptroller. Here are these results:

 

Debra Medina - 14 %, Raul Torres - 5 %, Glenn Hegar - 4 % and Harvey Hilderbran - 2 %

 

You read that right. The supposed "front runner," Glenn Hegar -- endorsed by the current Comptroller, Susan Combs and who is party establishment candidate-- has the support of just 4% of Republican voters. And that's in a poll that's plus or minus five percent!

 

In another poll that was conducted November 4-10, by the Blog site Latinos Ready to Vote, out of 517 self-identified registered Republican primary voters in Texas that participated in the poll the results were:

 

Glenn Hegar - 32%, Raul Torres - 22%, Debra Medina -14%, and Harvey Hilderbran - 8%.

 

In these two polls plus a third poll that we heard about today, Raul placed 2nd in all three polls. In other words, we have a wide open race for Comptroller.
