What's the plan?

When I announced my campaign for Comptroller, I told you that no Certified Public Accountant had ever served as Comptroller in our state's history and that I have a plan for eliminating waste in the Comptroller's office and in all of state government.

Just like you the Corpus Christi Caller Times wanted to know, "What's the plan?"  They looked into my call for implementing the Lean Six Sigma efficiency process to see if it could help eliminate waste and improve efficiency in government. 

The experts they interviewed agreed with me - Lean Six Sigma would work in government and could save tax dollars by targeting waste and duplication. 

Dr. Robert Ford, an expert in Lean Six Sigma and an Angelo State University adjunct professor said, "It will work on anything," he said. "Especially anything governmental. There is too much redundancy."

And Talmadge Heflin, the director of the conservative Texas Public Policy Foundation's Center for Fiscal Policy, said "I think it's a tool that (the state) would benefit from."
