Greetings!,

The first quarter of 2016 is coming to a close, with a whole slew of successful trade shows and industry events under our belt! Our trade show season kicked off in January with the American Concrete Pipe Association's Trade Show, Pipe School, and B2B meetings in Arlington, Texas, followed by the World of Concrete in Las Vegas, Nevada, the UK Concrete Show in Birmingham, United Kingdom, the ICON-XCHANGE with National Concrete Masonry Association and Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute Annual meetings in Orlando, Florida, and The Precast Show, sponsored by the National Precast Concrete Association and Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute in Nashville, Tennessee.

Besser employees have been traveling the globe, excited to represent Besser's robust product line and services.  Trade shows and other "face-to-face events," like the B2Bs, have proven to be our best opportunity to meet and hold discussions with a large number of current and potential customers in one setting. By bringing a team with varied backgrounds to these events, we are able to address your questions on the spot and bring different perspectives to conversations. This provides tremendous value for both the attendee and Besser.

All of these events grew in size and attendance this year. The majority of block, pipe, and precast producers told us that their business has picked up and that they're encouraged by the steady industry growth they're experiencing. Many producers are evaluating the options for investing in their plants, whether with upgrades such as Advanced Servo Vibration (ASV) and Servo Main Drive (SMD), Vision 3 Automation and Roll-Over Brakes for Precast Forms, or with reconditioned or refurbished equipment. Many are also looking at expanding their product lines to supply their marketplaces with new options.

We are looking forward to wrapping up the busy trade show season in a few weeks with Bauma in Munich, Germany, where we anticipate a record crowd of attendees from all over the world.  We'll have a large group of the Besser team on hand and lots of interesting concrete products on display!

Dave prides himself on delivering the same level of customer service he likes to receive when he's the customer. Working in the industry for as long as he has, Dave knows that producers have options when it comes to choosing a supplier. Giving them as many reasons as possible to choose Besser is his top priority.

MUSIC CITY PLAYS HOST TO PRECAST SHOW

Booth traffic was brisk as the doors opened to The Precast Show held 2 - 5 March at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Our booth featured an eccentric manhole form sold to KOI Precast in Burlington, Kentucky, a pair of form brakes, and a variety of our castings - all in addition to videos and graphics promoting our entire product line. We hosted a putting contest which gave us an opportunity to discuss the attendees' needs and promote the vast array of products and services we offer. Everyone had fun testing their skills, competing, and winning a Besser hat if they sunk their putts!

Attendance numbers grew from 2015 as the show floor was filled with producers of pipe, precast, prestress, and masonry. Prestress producers are new to the show floor as the Precast/Prestressed Institute became a show sponsor this year. The majority of producers speaking with Besser staff commented that their business is better now than 2015 and they are optimistic about the year ahead.

SPECIAL DELIVERY FOR GAINEY'S CONCRETE

Our Boone, Iowa fabrication team stepped up to the large task of creating a 5,000 gallon waste water treatment system form for a longtime customer, Gainey's Concrete Products. Gainey's business theme is "Think Pink," so with our goal of always exceeding customer expectations in mind, we painted the form with Gainey's signature color and added their custom logo. While Besser remains partial to blue and yellow, we can't help but smile when we see this picture! See below for the products this pink form will produce.
