In 2014 the World Center for Concrete Technology (WCCT) held six Blockmakers Workshops in Alpena, Michigan USA. With new course material and presentations WCCT instructor Ron Scherer is enthusiastic and eager to share his knowledge with our industry.

If you are interested in continuing your or your fellow employees education but would prefer to hold this in your plant with your agenda, Besser offers on-site training. We'll kick this off with the Dynapac/Ultrapac/Superpac course 26-30 January 2015 on the east coast (location to be determined).
We are also excited to be hosting our first Servopac training course 9-13 March 2015 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This course is for veteran and new Servopac machine operators and those considering purchasing a Servopac in the future.

Servopac®

Be a part of history for the first Servopac school Besser will offer. With a completely brand new curriculum, our newest course will cover all aspects of the machine including an in-depth explanation of machine screens and functions of every aspect of the Servopac, basic to mid-level hydraulics training, electrical / electrical troubleshooting, predictive and preventive maintenance and a group roundtable. The class will include both in-class training in a conference room environment and hands-on training at the Servopac machine. Concrete Masonry Technology

Concrete Masonry Technology covers all aspects of manufacturing concrete products. In an easy-to-follow structured format, the class covers raw material components (cement, water, aggregate, admixtures and pigment), hands-on aggregate sieve analysis, multi-aggregate blending, mix designs, manufacture of product and curing fundamentals. It really is the complete package which will produce an immediate impact within your operations. Vibrapac®

The Vibrapac concrete products machine course is a hands-on study of the proper machine adjustments, electronics and electrical schematic print reading of the V3 Vibrapac concrete products machines. Students are given troubleshooting problems as a practical application of these topics. Price: USD $1050

The Advanced Vibrapac course provides more extensive hands-on work for practical application in concrete products production, both mechanical and electrical. Students are required to adjust a concrete products machine to low height and to manufacture concrete products in class. Electrical sessions cover Allen-Bradley programmable controllers. Greater concentration is applied to schematic print reading and ladder logic diagnosis. Before attending this course, students must complete the Vibrapac course. Price: USD $1050

Electronic Controls
4-8 May 2015
The Electronic Controls course includes an in-depth study of electrical wiring and programmable logic controllers. Applications and troubleshooting for Allen-Bradley programmable controllers are studied. Product Handling & Curing
14-18 September 2015
The Product Handling course covers all aspects of the handling once product has been manufactured. Adjustments, schematic print reading and solid state circuitry is covered for: E-Model & Multi-Spade Besser-Matic loaders/unloaders, LSC & PTS handling systems, curing, depalleter, turnover, splitter and both semi-automatic & automatic cuber types. The curing session has been added to the curriculum for 2015 where students will gain an understanding of why we cure product and the benefits of proper curing fundamentals.

Specialty Products/Material Variegation/ Recycled Materials
In this class students will cover specialty products such as segmented retaining wall, use of core puller products, pavers, advanced architectural products as well as an in-depth look at material variegation / blending of colors to create a unique product appearance. All machine types will be covered such as cam type, Servopac and competitive equipment (plate vibration / LP equipment). We will cover pertinent ASTM specifications for specialty products, recycled materials and their use in our industry. This class is well suited for concrete technicians, quality personnel or advanced machine operators. Price: USD $800
