Our hardworking College and Career Center staff is busy planning new and innovative ways to engage students in their future college and career choices. Our Career Guidance Counselor, Ms. Shelley Reikenberg, will be starting up a new event calledCookies with the College and Career Center.Beginning Thursdays in October @ lunch, come and ask our College and Career Counselor about college applications, Naviance or anything else on your mind for both Students and Parents!
College Visits are in full swing-Check Naviance for frequent updates about schools visiting Los Al.

Countdown to the PSAT...beginning next week, 9th and 11th graders will need to come in to the College and Career Center to fill out their PSAT scantron/answer sheet. Students can come before school, nutrition, lunch and after school. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!! 10th graders do not need to fill out PSAT scantron/answer sheet because they are already pre-registered.
Mark your calendars for OCTOBER 14th...there will be a special bell schedule. All 10th graders will be taking the PSAT for a suggested donation of $22. If you haven't done so already, please pay in the Activities office.
All 10th graders received The Official Student Guide to the PSAT/NMSQT in their English Class. If you are a 9th or 11th grader come by the Career Center to pick yours up.

KHAN ACADEMY OFFERS FREE SAT AND NEW SAT PRACTICE

Download a real, full-length SAT practice test, watch Sal work through real SAT problems, and get even more practice using our interactive questions. The current SAT will be in place through January 2015.

If you have a work permit that expired in the summer, come by for a quick renewal. A Work Permit is needed and should have employer and parent signature and student SSN and can be processed in the Career Center. Work permits require renewal every school term. Here are some current job openings.

Brooke Everett is our September Rotary Student of the Month! Brooke is currently enrolled in ROP Video Production/Griffin News. Her teacher Mr. Tomlinson says she is doing an excellent job. This year she is serving as the president of Griffin News.
Brooke will be recognized at the Rotary meeting next Tuesday, September 15TH.
