7:00 - 9:30 pm

There is still time to register for this GNHCC workshop and work with one of Connecticut's finest conductors.  Join noted maestro Gabriel Löfvall and fellow singers from Greater New Haven Community Chorus for an intensive sing-in experience focusing on Haydn's Missa Brevis in B-flat (Sancti Joannis de Deo).

As an Artistic Director, Gabriel Löfvall is a conductor, pianist, and tenor who grew up listening to the sounds of the tango in his native Argentina.  Born in Mendoza, Argentina, Gabriel moved to the United States in 1997, and holds two Master of Music degrees from the Hartt School (University of Hartford) in piano performance under Luiz de Moura Castro, and in Choral Conducting, under Dr. Edward Bolkovac.  He is presently a doctoral candidate there.

A member of several professional groups, including the Connecticut Choral Artists (CONCORA), Gabriel co-founded and co-directs Vallis Musicæ, a mixed chorale devoted to disseminating choral music.

GNHCC to Participate in
The International Festival of Arts & Ideas

GNHCC has been invited to participate in The International Festival of Arts & Ideas -- a 15-day extravaganza of performing arts, lectures, and conversations that takes over theaters and open spaces in New Haven, Connecticut each June.  This year's festival takes place from June 14 through June 28.

GNHCC will be featured on stage at the Yale Repertory Theater on Thursday, June 26 at 8:00 p.m. in a performance of David Greig's highly acclaimed play The Events.  It will be the US premiere of a major new work about community, tolerance, and healing in the wake of trauma, with participation of choirs from our region.  The Events tells a deeply powerful and relevant story about healing and community and has been declared "The Best Play yet to play in New York'' by The New York Times.

Tickets for The Events can be purchased online by clicking here, or by calling the Shubert Box Office at 203-562-5666.

More information about the play and David Greig, the award winning Scottish playwright and theater director can be found at our website.
