MATCHING GIFT UPDATE

We made it!  Thanks to our generous supporters, The Earl Wentz and William Watkins Foundation had something to really celebrate at Thanksgiving.  We not only reached our Phase II matching gift  goal of $1,000, we exceeded it!  Our total for Phase II giving was $1,120, which means we more than qualified for the additional $1,000 matching gift by an anonymous donor. 
  
For our entire Fall 2004 Matching Gift Challenge, we took in a total of $4,120 (including the $2,000 combined matches for Phase I and Phase II). 
  
Way to go, team!  
  
This money will go to support our arts education programs for children in need and our other initiatives in the coming year. 
  
The Foundation firmly believes in "fostering community" and increasing self-esteem.  I hope you will share some of that esteem and sense of pride in being part of a community that makes good things happen.
  
Together we pulled through and achieved this.

PLANS FOR 2015 IN PROGRESS 
 

We're fnalizing our major progrms for 2015 right now.  So far, the include: 

  • Expansion of our music and drama residencies at Winterfield Elementary School in Charlotte, NC.
     
  • A return of our Summer Musical Theatre Worskshop for 8 to 14 year olds in August. We are sill working to expand this program to other cities over course of the summer.
     
  • The long-awaited return of the American Composer Series.
     
  • A concert of selections of music by Earl Wentz.

We'll keep you updated as things unfold in the coming months.  Stay tuned!
