Welcome Letter from New PTA President: Denise Faherty
Dear Jensen Beach Families,
I would like to welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year at Jensen Beach Elementary. I hope everyone enjoyed their time off and are now ready to get back into the school groove. I am thrilled to be starting my first year as your PTA President. I am a life-long resident of Jensen Beach and proud to say a Jensen Beach Elementary School alumni. I am so excited to be giving back to the school I attended as a child. I have been a part of the JBE PTA Board for over 6 years and have participated and chaired many events. One of my biggest events was co-chairing the Playground rebuild. Along with that I have chaired the Playground 5k/10k race for the past 3 years with much fundraising success. I have a wonderful husband of 16 years and 2 beautiful daughters Bella (5 yrs at JBE now in 7th grade at SMS) and Grace (2nd grade at JBE).
You are so fortunate to be part of a wonderful school where teachers and staff are dedicated to enriching the lives of your children! Working alongside the staff is a hardworking group of PTA members - parents who are dedicated to doing the best for our children and who volunteer their time, talents and ideas. With such a strong team of people working together for the well being of our children, Jensen Beach Elementary is looking strong.
Your PTA has been busy this summer planning the programs and activities that will make this year fantastic for our children. We will kick things off on August 5th at our annual Welcome Back Luncheon for the staff. On August 12th we will participate in the Meet the Teachers event. On this day you can find our PTA booths where you can join the PTA, purchase a Spirit Shirt and sign up to be a Parent Volunteer.
Our school theme this year is "All Children Are Our Children-Be the Difference." We hope that you will be the difference and join us in the PTA by becoming a member, attending our events, supporting our fundraisers and becoming a school volunteer. If you are interested in being on the PTA Board or have questions, you can contact me at denisefaherty@bellsouth.net.
On behalf of the JBE PTA,
Denise Faherty
PTA President

--- Catalog, Cookie Dough and Magazine Sale ---
--- New Items This Year! Plus Thousands More in the Online Store! ---
JBE PTA's main fundraiser of the year will kick off on August 24th! We need YOUR help! Our goal for this year is to sell $30,000 worth of items, which is an average of 5 items per child (remember, magazines ordered online and through the catalog count for 2 items!). If we reach our goal, this will be the only PTA fundraiser this year. All proceeds go back to the school for educational assemblies, teacher education, software for classrooms, Reflections, Academic Games, Beautification, Scholastic Reader, PBIS, teacher appreciation week, family fun nights, dance, and classroom supplies.
-
This year, the theme will be EMOJI's!
-
If we meet our school goal, the XPOGO STUNT TEAM will come to JBE for an afternoon show!
-
Students that sell 15 items or more will have VIP seating for the XPogo Stunt Show and will have access to the performers for autographs!
-
Students that sell 20 items or more will be invited to a Hummer Limo Ride to Chick-fil-a!
Online ordering is quick and easy (FREE SHIPPING with orders over $60!). Go to www.GASchoolStore.com, click the 'Shop Now' button and enter JBE's code (667998). Students with at least one online order will receive a special Chocolate FroYo Emoji!

How to Become a Volunteer @ JBE!
Volunteering is a great way to get involved @ JBE! All volunteers must register with the e270 form prior to volunteering, this form is available online ONLY! Once you register, you are eligible to volunteer at any Martin County school. Please use the the link below to register.
Level I vs. Level II
- For volunteers interested in chaperoning field trips, becoming a room parent, volunteering after school hours or working individually with students, a Level II background screen is required. This costs $20 and is good for 2 years. Payment can be made online or by dropping off a check at the front office.
- For those wanting to volunteer only during school hours, on campus and always under direct supervision of staff, a Level I volunteer registration is required and is free of charge. Please make your selection in the online form based on your choice.
****Please note -- All volunteers must fill out a new registration form every year! Even if you paid for a background screen last year, please complete a new registration form. Once your registration form is complete, you will receive an email letting you know if a previous background screen is still valid or if you need to renew and pay.
Once you register as a volunteer, you will receive monthly "Viking Volunteer" email newsletters which let you know what volunteer opportunities are available each month!

PTA Spotlight:
Viking Workshop
The Viking workshop is a team of parents who meet every Wednesday morning at JBE to help teachers prepare materials to use in their classrooms. They cut, staple, tear out worksheets, prepare art projects and more. This allows teachers to use more of their time in the classroom to work with students. It is a fun group and a great way to make some new friends. Everyone is welcome and you don't need to commit to every week. The Viking workshop will kick off Sept 7th!
