Two years as your Lake County Person . . . .
Over all our County Board is a great bunch that cares about our quality of life and works keep the pressure on to deliver results at high levels. The diversity of people throughout our County from Lake Barrington, Antioch, Waukegan, and Highland Park provides quite a different collaborative effort than sitting on the Highland Park City Council. As we swear in our new board members on December 1st, review our rules and look forward at our vision for the future in the coming months, I just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to serve the approximate 34,000 residents I represent in District 11. County Board Approves Balanced Budget that Focuses on the Future

We just adopted a $502 million budget for 2015.  As a member of our Finance Committee, I am continuing to push for reform, consolidation, and efficiencies to reduce the tax burden on our residents.  Watch this 2 ½ minute video to learn more about your tax dollars are being spent, and watch this interview to learn more about our budget. Seasonal Lighting Ceremony Events

Celebrate the changing of the seasons with Lighting Ceremonies around Lake County!  Join with neighbors and fellow residents as your communities turn on their holiday light display with festive fun, including parades, countdowns, treats, games and more.

Celebrate the kick-off to the holidays at Highland Park's Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 22nd from 3-5:30pm at Port Clinton Square

Healthy Lake County 
Enroll Lake County will help you enroll in Medicaid or the ACA Marketplace. The Program Coordinator is our very own Terri Olian. The next enrollment period for the health insurance marketplace begins Nov. 15 and goes through Feb. 15, and the Enroll Lake County! staff is ready to help residents understand the program, and apply under the Affordable Care Act. Phone number is 847.377.4999. Watch this episode and learn more about marketplace insurance, as well as the precautions that should be taken when cooking food to prevent food borne illness.
Lake County Children's Advocacy Center Event

The Lake County Children's Advocacy Center works with children who have been physically and sexually abused in Lake County. Attend this event to help build a Healing Garden, where families can reflect in a safe space, free of shame and fear. The evening includes cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, entertainment and a silent auction. Email cflanigan@lakecountyil.gov for tickets. More
