You received Blue letters of Assessed Property Values last week.

Check your assessed property value. Do you understand your assessed value and does it seem correct?  First step for questions is to call Assessor Cynthia Plouche at the Moraine office. 847.432.2100. Appeals must be filed by Sept. 2nd.

The assessed value of your property is the basis for how much you pay in property taxes so it is important that this number is correct. Assessed Value is 33.33 percent of Market Value.

The 2014 appeal forms for residential and commercial complaints (due by 9/2/14) are available at the Moraine Township Office or via the county website http://assessor.lakecountyil.gov/Board-Of-Review/Documents/2014%20Residential%20Appeal%20Form.pdf

The Chief County Assessment Office (CCAO) will hold 16 TAX ASSESSMENT HELP CENTERS this fall to help residents understand their property assessment. Residents will work one on one with a member of the CCAO staff to evaluate their property tax assessment and learn how to use valuable web applications on the county website.
